Shirley Minshall

Shirley died, after a typically stubborn fight with cancer, on Saturday 30th May 2009.

Our Commercial Manager for twelve years, Shirley helped guide AXIS through periods of great change; office moves, staff pregnancies and the mass adoption of the “interstate highway” as she begrudgingly referred to the internet.

Throughout this turmoil she kept the books balanced, the cash flowing and the office supplied with coffee and the occasional beer. She even had time to organise a couple of excellent Christmas parties – although the less said about those the better.

A lady of great moral strength and strong character she attempted to keep all the young AXIS guys and girls on the right track: Even Jim responded to her kindness and lasagne!

Having left AXIS in May 2008 due to ill health, she came back to see us a number of times. Her last visit saw her looking particularly well and in high spirits, giving the local traffic wardens grief - as was her way!

Shirley was a credit to our company, fiercely loyal and great fun. That is how we will remember her.

No time to say goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it
And only the NHS knows why!

Shirley's funeral will take place at 2.00pm on Tuesday 16th June at Peterborough Crematorium.
