The innovative thinking and creative delivery of a green Travel Plan, devised and delivered by the Transport Planning team at Axis for Integrated Health Projects and the Countess of Chester Hospital, has been selected for the ‘Innovation in Transport’ award at the Green Expo Awards held in Chester on Thursday 9 November 2023.
The awards recognise organisations who are making outstanding progress towards a greener future.
Said Alex Bannister, Senior Transport Planner and Project Lead “Everything we do is underpinned by sustainability, liveability and the environment, so to win this prestigious Green Expo Award is fantastic recognition for the creative approach and intelligent work the Transport Planning team delivered.”
Said Joan Carter, Project Director at The Countess of Chester Hospital, “The team at Axis have delivered an important, innovative Travel Plan which achieves the business and government sustainability targets we needed it to. We were delighted (but not surprised!) this project won the Green Expo 2023 ‘Innovation in Transport’ Award, and look forward to delivering the Plan as part of our Go-Greener and Sustainable Strategies.”
Axis was also shortlisted in the ‘Innovation in Commerce’ Award for successfully securing planning permission to allow the development of the UKs first-of-its-kind Compressed Air Energy Storage (CAES) demonstration facility, a groundbreaking solution towards decarbonising the energy sector.
