Axis welcomed clients, colleagues, and industry contacts to The Quay Hotel & Spa in Deganwy on Thursday 4 June to celebrate the opening of its new North Wales office in Colwyn Bay.
The event marked an important milestone for the business, strengthening Axis’ presence in Wales and reinforcing its long-term commitment to supporting development across the country.
While the office may be new, Axis’ experience in Wales is not. For more than 25 years, the consultancy has been helping clients navigate the unique opportunities and challenges of development across North, Mid, and South Wales, delivering projects spanning housing, regeneration, infrastructure, energy, environmental assessment, transport planning, and landscape design.
The evening brought together a diverse mix of professionals from across the planning, development, property, infrastructure, and environmental sectors, providing an opportunity to reconnect with long-standing contacts, make new introductions, and discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping Wales’ future.
Strengthening our commitment to Wales
During the event, guests heard from Jamie Bradshaw, Head of the Colwyn Bay office, and Lee Kendall, Technical Director, who reflected on Axis’ long-standing connection to Wales and the significance of establishing a dedicated North Wales base.
Jamie spoke about his more than two decades of experience working across the region and highlighted some of the projects that have helped shape communities across North Wales, including housing, affordable housing, community, and care developments.
He also reflected on the qualities that make North Wales such a unique place to live and work, from its stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage to its strong sense of community, thriving industrial base, and growing role in the UK’s energy future.
Lee highlighted Axis’ own history in Wales, noting that some of the company’s earliest projects were delivered in North Wales and that the business has continued to support Welsh clients throughout its 25+ year history.
Addressing the question of why Axis has chosen to open an office in Colwyn Bay, Lee explained that the move is a natural progression for the business.
With deep personal and professional connections across the region, a detailed understanding of the Welsh planning system, and decades of experience working with local authorities, developers, infrastructure providers, and businesses, the new office strengthens Axis’ ability to support clients throughout Wales.

The event provided an opportunity to celebrate the connections that have helped shape developments across Wales over the last quarter century, while also creating new opportunities for collaboration between organisations working across the region.
Guests enjoyed food and refreshments while discussing topics ranging from housing delivery and infrastructure investment to energy, regeneration, economic growth, and the future opportunities emerging across North Wales.
