Axis was responsible for the project management and preparation of a detailed planning application for 21 hectares of commercial glasshouses and a combined heat and power plant on land in East Cambridgeshire.

The Proposed Development will reduce food miles, significantly extend the growing season and increase yields from the site by using LED lighting and CO2 captured from the gas engine to enhance photosynthesis throughout the year.

The application was submitted May 2016 and was accompanied by a comprehensive Environmental Statement prepared by Axis.

The application was unanimously granted consent by East Cambridgeshire District Council on the 7th of September 2016.
