25 Years of Axis: Shaping a Sustainable Future

Axis is celebrating 25 years in 2025.

Since 2000, we have been a trusted and innovative planning and environmental consultancy, supporting clients with the delivery of projects throughout the UK that drive progress and create lasting value.

Over the past quarter of a century, we’ve worked with hundreds of clients locally, nationally, and internationally including some of Europe’s largest businesses.

From our roots in Chester, we’ve expanded strategically to meet the evolving needs of our clients. In 2006, we opened our Wilmslow office to strengthen our presence in the North West. In 2021, we became an Employee Ownership Trust, reinforcing our commitment to shared success. Now, in 2025, we’re taking another exciting step – opening a new office in Newcastle to serve the North East.

Excellence in Planning and EIA
Axis has earned its reputation as a trusted planning and environmental consultancy. Our expertise spans town planning, environmental impact assessment, transport planning, and landscape architecture, allowing us to deliver intelligent, solution-driven results for our clients.

We thrive on solving complex challenges – unlocking project potential, adding value at every stage, and consistently achieving successful results for our clients. As infrastructure needs change and new technologies emerge, we adapt so that we can continue to help our clients to obtain the regulatory consents needed to deliver their projects.

Marking 25 Years with a Lasting Initiative
To celebrate this milestone, Axis is launching an initiative in partnership with Make it Wild. We will create an Axis woodland, starting with 75 trees (three for every year of Axis), with ongoing annual tree planting as a long-term investment in natural spaces.

The trees we plant will be permanently protected, never harvested, and will grow into the ancient woodlands of the future. This initiative reflects our belief that businesses have a responsibility to make a lasting, positive impact on the planet.

Make it Wild has been creating UK nature reserves since 2010, planting over 80,000 trees. As such, the trees we plant will be contributing to a growing network of protected woodland. Through Make it Wild, our team will also have the opportunity to get hands-on with conservation days and tree-planting events, strengthening our connection with nature and reinforcing our sustainability goals. This initiative is just one of the ways Axis is actively shaping a more sustainable future.
